MONROE MOOSNICK MEDICAL & SCIENCE MUSEUM

What to expect: A medicasl and science museum on the campus of Transylvania University??? It just doesn't get more Goth sightseeing than this!!! But be forewarned, the museum is open by appointment only. Contact Curator and Physics Professor Jamie Day to schedule one.



MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK
 
Location: 1 Mammoth Cave Parkway         map & directions
What to expect: Known as the World's largest cave system at just under 400 miles in length, this huge cave has many, many attractions and activities for any cave-loving freak!!!



THE PROCESSION THAT NEVER MOVES
 
Location: 611 North 5th Street       map & directions
What to expect: In Mayfield's Maplewood Cemetery is a place on which a certain gentleman by the name of Colonel Henry G. Wooldridge had spent the majority of his wealth to commision eighteen monuments/statues, all facing East, representing all of his dearly departed loved ones. The figures even included two pet dogs and his trusty horse that was named "Fop."
