What to expect:Stanly Rehder was a Horticulturalist and a native of Wilmington whose life-long passion was the cultivation of flesh-eating plants. Known as the “Flytrap Man” by the locals, Stanley passed away in 2012 at the age of 90 and the city dedicated a small piece of land in the Piney Ridge Nature Preserve, behind Alderman Elementary School, to create a garden walk filled with hundreds of carnivorous plants including pitcher plants, sundews, Venus flytraps, and other insectivorous species.
